After-school Programs

As part of our Community Learning Programs, BSAI offers a wide array of after-school and summer programming to the Big Sur community with JazzMasters and Stage Kids as core elements of the program.

Classes are provided for Captain Cooper School, Pacific Valley School and the local Charter and Home School students.

To support these classes, BSAI calls upon its diverse pool of local artists and artisans. Here are currently active after-school Programs:

JazzMasters                                                                                                           
JazzMasters Workshop is an after-school music program held at Captain Cooper School on Thursdays from 2:30 - 4PM. The program runs the duration of the school year.

• Instruction in bass, keyboard, drums, guitar, harmonica and horns.
• Ensemble and performance opportunities.
• Open to ages 6 – 16
• Free.
• The year-end concert will be held on June 11, 2009 at the Captain Cooper School!

Guitar Lessons
Starting up again in the fall.

Singing Classes
Wednesdays, 5:30pm - 7pm, ongoing, at the BSAI Yurt.
